I see lots of data for the slow burners and 2600fps+ speeds and 50grs or more of powder.
What smaller charges of faster powders like N110 or 4759 have you found to be accurate and good/fun range loads? I know they spike pressures a bit fast but the powder savings is noticeable if you are jut plinking and punching paper.
Ive been through the load data base but most of the powders that fit this don't have any chrono data. So what has worked well and at what fps have you found to be safe and consistent?
Anything that is equal to or barely beating max BH209 fps in a 45cal would be very interesting to me. The latest 4759 tests were very interesting and looked like the pressures were very reasonable. $22.99lb and nearly half the amount of the slow burners got me to thinking...what else are people using successfully with sabots.

before i sold my SMI 45 i found H4227 to be incredibly accurate. i was shooting sabotless and not saboted bullets. 33gr or 34gr a wad and a 250xtp did great for punching paper. with the velocities i had it would work fine where i hunt as well, although i wasn't designing a hunting load. rumors are that the 4227 has ignition issues. i think PPosey had some good info with what you are looking for?

dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=smokeless&thread=5901&page=1thread to some info,, that was a great load in my short barreled savage,,, 21 inch,,with low recoil and very tight groups,, one of my kids may take a shot at a deer this year with that load if they can get to where they are comfortable with the gun and shooting well enough,,, they both have a ways to go though much more powder and you start blowing sabots but I bet you could back it down even further

I thought this thread made 4759 sound interesting in a 45. dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=smokeless&action=display&thread=8221If 48gr of the new jug is making that much fps with a semi high spike...not bad but kinda fast rise IMO. It appears it would do the job nicely with a bit less. The group pics at the bottom looked great to me and seem to indicate it may really have a good ES/SD. I got some for the 50 for now.

It does sound good thats for sure,, any time I tried that much 4759 I would get a blown sabot every 5-10 shots,, course my barrel could have had something to do with that,,, after leaving a 21 inch barrel and going to a 26 inch the 4759 hasn't been of intrest to me much
