I just checked the status of my Pac-Nor barrel which is in the UPS system on it's way to Richard. Here is the latest update.......not sure what this means, but it doesn't sound good.
From the UPS website: Commerce City, CO, United States 01/09/2011 11:00 P.M. Transportation accident occurred

I would assume that there is a delay, but would not read more into it at this time.

Hopefully they are not referring to your barrel per say but the vehicle in which it was being transported. I would be on the phone in the morning to clarify for sure!

Trying to follow this trail is like trying to track the taxpayer money being funneled through ACORN. It looks like they've shipped it all over the country, and from one place to another, and then back again. lol It was supposed to be there today, but they ain't gonna make it.

Notice it went from Kansas to North Carolina, then back to Missouri, then to Tennessee, and now has to go back to N.C. again. I think Brown is smoking a big fattie out on the interstate. Plus, all of this occured after it was in a wreck out in Colorado.

OK Cuda, here are a couple of work pictures. First off, any gun I work on, gets covered in Blue Painters tape to protect the finish while it is in my shop. The first pic is just the gun and new barrel while the bedding is hardening. The second is when the barreled action came out of stock. Note: I tape the sides, bottom and back of the recoil lug. This way, once it is removed from the bedding and the tape removed, the action will go freely in and out of the stock with no binding. The only surface that needs bedding is the flat surface that contacts the abutment in the stock. Richard

Here is my other one that Richard did also, it is the B&C Duramaxx, but in Olive Drab with black spiderweb.

Thanks for the kind words! Let me just point out one minor defect (so to speak) with these DuraMax stocks. Don't get me wrong, I love them. They are sturdy and well made except for one thing..................When they made them, they must have use a Savage synthetic stock to do their "mock up!" Just the Savage synthetic, every one of them leaves the barrel slightly off center. They all (and I think I have about seven of them including one of my own) tend to put the barrel listing to the right side. I am always forced to hog out some material on the right side to provide enough clearance. Because the pillars are already in place, it is near impossible to shift the action to the left as it would put the screws out of alignment with the receiver. It would be physically possible to rectify the situation but at an exorbitant amount of work. On the other hand, all of Savage's Laminate stocks have near perfect barrel alignment??? I think Bell and Carlson needs to do a re-mold ;D Don't worry, it will not influence its ability to shoot good Richard

I once ordered a Duramax for my Savage/laminate thinking I could lighten it up. When I got it and weighed it I found I would only loose a few ounces. Also when looking at the molded boss for the front swivel stud I noticed it was drilled off center which cracked the side of the boss. It looked weak enough to pull out under the full weight of the gun. I sent it back. So examine this area closely!
