Cole, Crazy test but good Still got your eyeballs and fingers? :-) You and Earnhardt need to get together....maybe, sorta, kinda.... Mike Put these two in the same room and they will have built a DeathStar by next week, then we're all screwed. Bad idea.

Josh, I've been bummed since they stopped filming mythbusters! I think we can take over without all the safety bull! I went ahead and chambered my .416 with a .0035 crush on a fed 209 after this test. Me no worry!
Rambler, I was taking a body apart on a table behind me when I came up with this idea! Na, oils are bad to let soak into you, I want to be able to move my hands when I'm 50 so I always wear nitrile gloves when I'm machining stuff.

Fyi knight mountaineer bolt guns have sealed primer with a crush fit of about.003 for many years and my custom knight builds are crush fit 209 between bolt face and shoulder in primer pocket. With.003 crush i have zero leak and over 700 rounds fired and no premature primer ignition upon closing bolt .

I had a savage ml2 that I lost in a nasty divorce. Planning to get more involved here while I decide what I want for my next build.
Just cuz the wife says she'll be home a 4:30 don't make it right to get all "to yourself" watching college cheerleading on the espn. She come home and you lose a lot....

Sounds like a sticky situation you got yournself into Jed. To bad you lost the MK2. You might want to consider one of them break open HR or Apexers. They might be in your price range.

I just scanned through this thread real fast so maybe I missed it but is there any idea how much the bolt will cost?

We have to finalize design and let them run one to see how much time they have in it but it appears the bolts will run around $250 depending on fluting. It might seem high but if you buy your donor rifle in a standard bolt face you can sell your bolt shroud for $100 or better. This puts you at the cost of the other bolt nose conversions already available. I've considered doing a "core" trade in also. As soon as we know a price we will be sure to let you guys know.

Or keep the bolt shroud then down the road if you want to use the action for centerfire you can because you don't have to modify anything on the action. I made that mistake with buying a Bad Bulls he modifies the bolt face and also drill a hole in the action base

Ordered 20 bolts yesterday, they are going to start roughing them in the first of next week. We got all of them fluted and with the straight handle the prototype bolt had. Threaded for a knob of course. The guys at pierce are really nice guys, they didn't even know when we were comig and they didn't care. Took care of us then went back to the 200 actions they had to fit up to barrels. Happening place!

Can you all offer those in a .308 family bolt face? That would look good on my Hankins gun, but it has the wrong face on it for my ignition system. I might be interested in 2 as I am having Jeff do another build for me. Kyle
