Well I don't know if we are gonna scope this Kodiak 25 cal springer monster I am getting from Posey or not, but just in case....
I have looked at pyramid air and around but frankly I cannot seem to find a scope that looks like it would hold up to this monster and was decent. 3x9 is the most we need, but I sure could use some advice on getting one for this gun. Any ideas fellas?
Thanks, Dwight

Kevin I think your the second guy who has mentioned this Hawke Airmax. How long has this scope held up for you? I mean is it a scope that will hold up for several thousand shots from a heavy springer or have you had yours long enough to tell?

Peep sites work pretty darn good on those springers to, and are a little less prone to breakage. Make sure you get quality mounts for the scope with the recoil posts/stops in them to mate with the reciever, or the whole thing will probably be sliding on that brute.

I mean is it a scope that will hold up for several thousand shots from a heavy springer or have you had yours long enough to tell? I used the airmax on 3 different spring/piston guns and I'm guessing a grand total of 3500 shots approx. This is on a Diana 350, Diana 34, and a Weihrauch HW-95. All of these guns generate a decent amount of recoil. The Diana 350 (22 cal) would come closest to being like the Beeman Kodiac, in terms of recoil. I've also used a couple of different higher end Hawks on my TX200 's for Field Target. They too, are made to handle springer recoil. Decent glass, and true windage/ verticle adjustment, plus their toughness make them well suited for the Springer/ Gas Ram type of guns. And very good customer service. But the Bushnelll Trophy XLT that I now use has held up on the Theoben Crusader (20 cal) and the other springers that I now own. It's held up fine. Also have a Bushnell Banner that is tough. BUT, for that HOSS of a gun like the Kodiac, I would go with Hawke. Enjoy the Kodiac. I believe that the Kodiac is a Webley (very high quality British made gun) that Beeman rebadged: Kodiac.

Now that is a great reply. Thank you Kevin for taking the time. I noticed Orion mentioned mounts but did not recommend anything specifically. Could someone please tell me which mount in particular would be best for this Kodiak with a Hawke 3x9? Thank you, Dwight

Beeman used to make a mount that had recoil pins in it that fit the holes drilled in the reciever. I do not know if they still are in buisness or if they still have the mount. RWS used to also sell one with recoil pins to mate with the reciever. They used to sell those at Cabela's.
Shop around. If that doesn't work you could probably make your own modification to other mounts with a little effort.
Good Luck

I have a couple sets of the beeman 2 piece mounts but they do not have the right pins for the Kodiak/Webley Patriot,,,, these guns have rounde bottomed groves gut into the top of the reciever, will have to search for those specific guns

Well that makes sense, I will keep an eye out but we may not scope it, just depends.
