I have a Gamo Whisper in 177cal and it is deadly on tree rats. I lent it to a friend of mine who was having a problem with them getting into his attic and so he has "euthanized" 14 and counting with some shots out to 30 yds. If you watch some of their videos on youtube you can see where they shoot through those heavy/thick clay flower pots so I guess they'll pierce a varmints skull(at a reasonable range)

Dwight, I'm certain you made the absolute best choice, one I'd make for myself. If you haven't already seen the following article, click on this link for good pellet-selecting advice for the Kodiak. www.velocitypress.com/BeemanKodiak.shtmlHarley

:)dwight a pcp will do the job but i don't think you want to get into that ballgame its quite costly.i have a edgun(russian made bullpup).22 regulated at 32 foot pounds that would put a hurten on those hogs. it shoots a 18gr pellet @ 905fps.most of the advertised stuff is with the lightest pellet in that caliber so those numbers don't mean much. what did you decide?

Dave, PPosey had a Beeman Kodiak 25 cal he is selling me at a very reasonable price. I think that is the best we are going to do and stay in budget. We considered a PCP but it was not practical for us and thought even about an xbow, but that was also not as practical. I think the 25 will kill those ghogs, they just might not die on the spot. But a farmer who is getting his barn lots torn up cares little about that.
