Put my hands on the savage .45 i purchased from nonsmoker today and ll i can say is not only is does this gun look like a tack driver but it is a piece of art, top notch all the way!!! Barrel is floated near perfection and trigger is just outstanding, cant wait to put some rounds down range with this 26" pacnor!!! i am going to still build the 700 for my 10 year old but i just have to say im sooo pumped going smokeless and jeff spared no expense to make this a tack driver if i do my part!!! ill post shooting results soon but thank you for all the info here and jeff for absolutely flooring me with this build!!

greenhorn, The stock is from John Okubo and his semi-finished stocks were of excellent quality. Unfortunately I don't believe he's still in business? Stock: 3rd pillar, Devcon plastic steel bedding, Decelerator pad, Finished with PPG automotive clear coat.
Timney trigger, SSS .240 recoil lug, Ken Farrell base, Burris XTR low rings, Bushnell 4200 Elite 2.5-10x40 scope.

Thanks nonsmoker, somebody needs to duplicate that stock. It just has its OWN look to it and has all the right features ,high cheek weld for larger scopes, thumbhole, wide fore-arm..... I very much like it..... Greenhorn
