Ive shot many GoldDolts/DeepCurls with BH209 with great results but i dont think ive ever seen them mentioned favorably in a SML thread. The heavier 452 and some 458s seem like they would perform well in a Savage.
The base though is concave, so im guessing this is part of the reason?
I also really like the Nosler Partitions in the 45 260gr and 300gr weights. Accuracy is "ok" but terminal performance should be excellent plus the BC is actually pretty good for the weight.
These are currently on sale at Wideners for half price and i have a bunch of them.
Again, i look at the base and wonder if it is part of the reason they are not popular with SMLs. Plus they are a bit under sized and probably harder to obturate due to the design. <sp>
Another bullet i shot recently was the Harvester 260gr PT Gold with the tip in my NULA. IMO it might not hold up well to SML speeds but the 260gr at roughly 2300fps shot extremely well for me on paper. The 300gr should easily compare to a 300gr SST and they cost a bit less. The 300gr also held up as well as a 300gr SST in my media tests.
The heat here lately and my work schedule has taken a huge bite out of my range time but i want to try some of these in the NULA and Savage 50cals.
BTW the new Lehighs under the Knight BloodLine name have added a slight radius to the bottom edge. I have some coming to try with subs and smokeless. Ive had really good results with the 458-275gr shooting subs with the older sharper base design but ive yet to try them with smokeless.

I didn't have much luck with the GD 250gr .452s in a sabot. I assumed it was from the base. I do plan to try them sabotless in my .45.
