So has anyone tried a lighter bullet in there .50's? I have a ton of jacketed 185 SWC from that hornady bullet deal. I know sabots should be trimmed down and all just wondering it anyone has tried it. if nothing else they could be used for trigger time and possibly wood chucks.

Are they .45 cal ? A photo would be great. They might accept a high-performance point on it ?. Sounds like you have plenty to play with. I don't know what load for that bullet. Someone will hook you up I'm sure. Sounds like a cheap date for sure, Greenhorn Update, they look high performanced already, is the base flat?

ET and I have been trying to get the 200gr. xpb knurled to work in the 50 with trimmed sabots and I have been using 60 gr. N-120, results are not something to write home about, but now the 225 FTX shoots really great

With the .50 and even the .45, the "light for caliber" bullets may shoot decent at 100 yards, but generally not so well at longer distances. Richard

I have shot the 185 grain .451 caliber bullets very fast Also some light weight Red Hots I think 200 grain. The best accuracy I could get at 100 yards was around 3 inches.

I use 225 FTX and it works quite well out to 200 yards, bad beyond that. 46 grains of 4759 with it and whatever sabot your rifle likes with it. Good stuff, and again, at 30+/- a box of 100 its easy on the wallet.
