Been a long wet, cold spring around here. Wondering if any of you hunters have been toying with the gift of "cool" to do any hunting load development.
I was hoping to discharge my "loaded since last day" gun during the past few weeks but so far have not.
Anyway, the weather has been good for testing.

Same with weather here, and have only been out once but had to give it up early because of 20mph X-wind gusts. If it ain't raining, it's blowing, or both.
Am about to check out a club which has their range in an old abandoned rock quarry where at least the wind will not be so much of a factor.
Good luck to everyone else!

Been dieing to get out and do some shooting, as I have a new sabot from Harvester they asked me to try out, but the weather has simply not co-oped to allow me to do so, or work has left me no time. Hope to get out a week from today. Might just have to take a day off if the weather for that day = perfect weather for shooting.
I guess I will have to play the weather watch & waiting game. I simply do not wish to do load development or hunting zero's in high wind.

I get such a little time to shoot I should not be SOOOO particular, But with money tight also, don't want to P@#$ no lute. What to do??? Rusty

Fired my first few shots out of a brand new 700ml build this past weekend that I am doing for a buddy. 26" pac. These projects just seem to take so much time. I started with 56 grains of H4198 and a 200 sst for the first shot. 2300fps. Made about 3 shots and the rain started pouring. Now waiting until this weekend. Kinda scared because the black ice is inside the bore. I didnt expect that and not sure how that is going to effect accuracy.
On my old 45 pac sav, I was bored and got into a couple things with her. First I sprayed some duracoat on her so I could remove the camo tape from the barrel. The coverage looks good, it just takes a long time to cure. Then I got a richards wildcat stock in finally and started sanding. This stock is way rough and customer service at richards was no good. Delivery was way late. But in the end, I think I will have a decent looking stock. LOTS of elbow grease later.....

Well two of the 3 first cut the same hole, so I know its not just flinging them but I will get a better idea this weekend. The coating is really nice. The outside is as good as one could get. I could find no blemishes at all. The biggest difference is on the bolt. It really made the bolt slide and lock very smooth. I like that allot! But I was surprised (not in a good way) to see some in the muzzle end. I really dont think it will be a big deal after a few rounds, but I would prefer that it was not there. I think leadtime on mine was about 4 weeks. The last item of note- This was a 700ml that had some age but after the coating process on the bolt the mainspring relaxed to a point that I knew it wasnt right. I had to go ahead and order a spring(its like $4 at midway). I probably should of done that in the first place anyway.
