2nd season shotgun season starts Saturday. Just finished running a alcohol patch and a couple dry patches down the barrel. Fired two primers an loaded the .50 with 42 gr N110 BCR 300 Rem. I'll shoot that off tomorrow and load up for Saturday morning. Never had a misfire using this method. I have two doe tags for shotgun and 2 for late ML season. Weather man says snow for the weekend then cold. Hope that gets the deer moving. We had about half as many car deer accidents this fall as last year. 1st season guys said they didn't see the deer this year like last. Warren

Supposed to be Nasty weather in So. Illinois this weekend. Rain-snow with Sunday being windy. Hope your weathers better. Good Luck!

Yeah, numbers were definitely down. Still plenty of deer out there, just have to hunt a little bit harder. Lots of nice ones getting shot this year.

I like to hunt in cold and snowy weather. Get your white suit on, watch the wind and go shoot one in its bed. You can learn to look forward to that type of hunting vs sitting in a blind and waiting for one to come by. The wind and the snow camo give you the advantage.
Put some air activated charcoal heaters in your gloves and electrical tape over the muzzle. It is a grand way to hunt. The only day I had a chance to do that this year ML hunting I saw 10 does and fawns in an afternoon. Antlered bucks only up here.
