Good morning. Using a duplex load of 19N110/51H322 in .50 cal w/250gr. Bullet. Any advantage to using a CCI 209M primer as opposed to the standard 209? Does using a Mag primer increase the pressure levels? Will be hunting in cold conditions, below freezing. Thanks guys.

Most people (including me) use the 209M although since you're duplexing you probably don't need it so much for ignition insurance.

The cup is reportedly thicker on the "m" version. If you have any problems with 209 disintegration , the m will likely help. The regular CCI 209 will reliably ignite any of the book powders. I, personally, always use the "m" version.

I use a mag primer unless I am trying to keep pressure on the sabot lower using a faster powder in a .45

Unless you are hunting where it doesn't get that cold regular primers are OK but in cold weather hunting use the Mag primer. Mag primers have a micro second longer burn time than regular primers. Harder to ignite powders benefit the most from a mag primer. Mike
