Our season opens this Friday. Took the SMI H&R .50 out today to make sure everything was still a go from last year. Only thing I've done is cleaned the primer pocket and flash hole. Shooting the .500 thor 250gr over 42gr of N110, first two shots are almost touching about 4" high at 100 yards. Moved the target to 200 yds. and shot one more. 1/2" left of the bullseye dead on zero. My brother was with me sighting in his 20g 870 with hornady slugs and it re-ignited his fire to convert his buffalo classic to SML Friday morning I'll be sitting in a bottoms stand that allows me to cover about 200 yards east and west and about 8 travel routes. Have my fingers crossed the deer cooperate Good luck to all you guys heading out. Shoot straight and be safe For anyone wondering, running this info through the calculator gives me about a .207 bc for the thor. Should put me about 7" low at 250 yards, but I don't have many spots where I can shoot that far. Maybe late season where I'll hunt corn fields.
