Apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but here goes:
Which (if any?) of the factory bullet/sabot combos have sabots which are suitable for smokeless? Do they always have to be swapped out?

The .452 Harvester Hard Cast come with Harvester Long black sabots they are perfect. Not all have to be changed out. different barrels still prefer different sabots, it will depend on fit.

I shoot the 300 grain Hornady SST w/ the supplied red sabots. They do load quite a bit looser than the Barnes Original in a BCR sabot that I was shooting previously, but I have fired 80 plus of them in temps from July to Jan here in Iowa and have had no misfires. I am shooting them over the same 60 grains of N 120 the I shot the BO.

The Barnes MZ, and TMZ sabots are MMP sabots and are very good for smokeless. I can't speak for the Spitfires, but I would think they are also made by MMP.

I use the Harvester crushed rib sabots w/200 gr SST's in my .45, use Precision Rifle 330 gr. Elite HP's with their sabots, I think they are MMP's.
