The Rel-7 is going to shoot....all of the following pics(including pic of the 295 yard shot ;D) used the same bullet/sabot.195 Barnes and Harvester slick blue sabot.Up first is the Rel-7... Up next is 60 grns of IMR-4198. It needs to go a little faster. While I had a outstanding group going with the 60 grns of N120 going, this guy pops out about 200 yds past my 100 yd set up.I tried to range him but the range finder would not pick him up.No surprise there. I guesstimated the distance and slowly touched one off. It was a hard quarting away shot.At the shot he rolled and crawled about 3 yds and expired! I started giggling like a school girl! I tried to calm down to finish my N120 group and pulled the last one...but it was still a dead squirrel..eerrrr deer! I had to take the range finder to the squirrel to get a reading.... ;D 295 yds give or take 1....This Pac-Nor is growing on me fast!

I saw where you shot one group that was outstanding...but that was all I saw.As of right now the n120 reign's supreme with the Rel-7 a close second.

Dear School Girl, Very nice shooting. Now that you have taken a squirrel with a large caliber rifle, what can you do for an encore, may I suggest taking on a Cape Buffalo with your bare hands or a short spear, no doubt your up to the challenge, hopefully you or someone else can publish the pictures of the victor.

Reminds me of a pic I saw once showing the carnage of a 2600+ fps close range shot with 250g SST ;D ;D
Nice shooting buddy!! That's one tree rat that your pup won't get a chance to tree.

Tar.......No, I really didn't do too much with N-120 probably more because it is/was not very plentiful I had one pretty good five shot group shooting sabot less with a 250 SW, a veggie wad and 64 gr. of 120. About an inch point six and in the 2600 fps range. I would probably that that load and put in 10 gr. of N-110 and then throw 50 gr. of N-120 on top of it. It probably would put me in the same relative speed category even though the charge is four grains less total powder. H-322 is another good powder as a single but you will need more to get a similar velocity as opposed to a 110/322 duplex. Herman has done real well with 68 gr. of H-322. Richard

Some things I forgot to mention is that the ventliner measured .029 and no scope adjustments were made and no swabbing,no cooling, no waiting for 13 consective shots.

Rick, Purdy shooting there!
I get a little better accuracy in my P-N 45, and about 100 fps more speed, with N-120 than I do with H-4198. Both at 62 grains. Looks like your barrel likes pretty much everything you feed it!
Your trophy reminds me of a muzzleloader hunt we made back when we could only hunt the Sylamore National Forest, or Trusten Holder GMA down at the South end of the White River Refuge. We ran out of food, and were camped a long way from a store. One of the guys suggested that we try to bag just about anything edible. I managed to bring in 2 squirrels and a huge Swamp Rabbit, all shot with a 58 cal round ball over 100 gr FFG black powder. Another guy poached a turkey, and another bagged a fair sized coon. The only way we had to cook it was either in a mulligan stew, with a few potatos, and a couple of cans of pinto beans, or battered in cracker crumbs and fried. We voted for fried! Man! That was good! When 13 guys finished eating, there wasn't enough juice left to get a biscuit wet! Boarhog

Boarhog, That sounds like it was a blast! I often daydream of being foot loose and fancy free! That must of been a grand ole time! It also reminds me of one of my misadventures on a fishing trip.We could not get the boat fired back up and ate baked chicken liver for a couple days! Kinda lost my taste for them for awhile! lol ;D

Rick, how much elevation did you apply to the shot on that animal? I see you went for the boiler room shot. If you gave him the high shoulder you wouldn't have had to track him as far.

That little bugger would not hold still! No ground shrinkage though..... ;D ;D

Pposey. I must be spending too much time in the cabin alone I think that would make a great conversation piece for a bottle opener. Start a fad could make a fortune if not you would have a one of a kind. Jon

Rick I knew you'd finally come around to 45, just like a while back when you finally came around to N110. While I still love my HB 50 I love my RB 45 much more.

Rick I knew you'd finally come around to 45, just like a while back when you finally came around to N110. While I still love my HB 50 I love my RB 45 much more. Darrel, I am slow to change especially when what I have is not broken and there is no need to fix it! I did not need this .45 anymore than I need a hole in the head! I had done everything that was possible to do with the .50 and it was time for change and the opportunity presented its self. The .45 has a lot of catching up to do!
