My Encore conversion 45-70 TC barrel converted to SML is shooting great. I wanted a good, short, light, handy, low recoil walking around sneekin, creepin and calling woods hunting gun. Due to my declining vision I can't use my Cabelas .58 Hawken any more even with a peep sight and firesight up front. So I went smokeless. TC 45-70 barrel with BP installed by SMI. Load is PPoseys test load of 31 gr. 4759 under blue sabot with 200 gr. Hornady xtp. Put a light weight Bushnell on it from off my Firehawk BP gun. Well it was bug holes at 50 yd right from the start. 2 shots-adjust scope-2 shots-adjust scope-2 shots and bug holes just atop the X. WOW, was I happy! Also have one of Macks ramrods with a Spinjag, nice and works great. Well turkey and ML deer open so out I have been. Well got a turkey with offhand shot at about 45 yds. Right through the neck. Then bagged 2 does with shots at about 35 yds. for each one. Chuck41 is right about that .40 cal 200 gr. xtp making holes. One was drt with rt to lft shoulder shot the other went about 60 yds on a shot from front of right shoulder to lodged on knee of off side rear leg, that one got the right lung, liver and assorted vitals to rear. I will get some Barnes and sst and do a wring out later but I'm a happy camper now. I would like to express my thanks to all who have helped me to get to this point with my SMLing and the names are too numerous to mention. I'm really having fun this year. Thanks all, 10 ga
