Well thanks to all you guys and especially PPosey in my quest to find the right airgun for my friend. The 25 cal Kodiak he sold me is a beauty. I took it to the range today and fired my first aimed shot through it, and was not disappointed. Been along time since I shot a springer and this one is a real cannon! I put up a quarter sized shoot n see repair dot and stepped back to 25 yards. Shooting off hand, my first shot hit the black. I was tickled. Well I would like to say every other shot hit the black, but I would be lyin. Still the rifle shot to my call, and when I did my part the shot did hit the black, and the rest of the time the shot went were I knew it should be. Did a test on penetration too with a couple of the pellets on a pine 2x4. At 25 yards the domed pellets went about 3/4 way through the board and the crow magnums went about an inch. I am pretty sure a head shot at 25 yards will surely kill a whistle pig dead as snot. LOL
So I took it out to my friend on the farm and man was he tickled. We saw a bird walking in the mud down at the pond about 75 yards away. I took a shot from the off hand holding over a little for the increased distance. Well I did not hit the bird, but gave him a little mud bath. My friend was awestruck that one could even do that with an iron sighted air gun. I told him, well this ain't your old Red Ryder ;D Anyway he took a few shots and loved it. He was all ready planning his strategy for the chucks. I showed him a few pointers on care and maintenance on a springer and left him a happy farm boy. Hopefully in the coming days I will be able to report on the efficacy of the rifle on chucks. He thanked me many times over for finding this rifle and I thought it only fitting to pass this along to all of you that helped me in this regard. Thanks fellas and again thank you PPosey!
