After filling the prairie with Winchester Ballistic Tip lead about 11 times at a running goat, and hitting him (barely) 3 of those, the last one got him as he was about to crawl under that fence there...........whew. 375 yards, probably my longest verified 'hit'. He made it another 40 yards and lay down and we waited an hour watching him from about 450 yds away, and finally eased up on him and finished him off as he stood up at 200. Big goat (for me, not for many folks)......about 16", and old and heavy. Most fun a man can have with his clothes on.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting story of hunt. I need to visit with you and teach you to leave out the unnecessary parts. Here is my version. Opened up on a goat running so fast it had to turn sideways to prevent flying. I made three hits but due to distance and goat speed I couldn't precisely place the shots. But he went down and I used another shot to put him out of misery. He was old and tough. I doubt if I am able to stick a fork in the gravy. Does anyone have a specific measure on how much salt to mix with the powder to prevent meat spoilage on these long range shots? Congratulations Buckrub. Good job.
