Thanks,,, sst's are expensive for load research hoping to use cheaper XTPs

About 75% of the bullets I shoot are the 200 gr. XTP! The higher BC of the SST's is more evident at 200 and 300 yards. Richard

I used 200XTPs for load development. I think Chuck41 has used them on deer quite successfully. They seem relatively tough compared to what you might think for a 40 cal pistol bullet.

wonder if you filled the HP with lead or a lead sup if they would be even tougher? Experiments may be in order

They are quite effective on deer. Stay away from the shoulder shots, but put it in the engine room and the deer will not go far. You will likely only find shrapnel remaining of the bullet if you push it in excess of 2500fps as I do, but it works. I have not lost one yet, although I have recently changed and now am working with a number of resized 41 cal bullets that are a bit tougher with thicker jackets. Al made some punches that do a nice job of pointing an XTP and closing up that big hole. Should moderate that explosive expansion. I usually get my Harvester Blue sabots from Midsouth shooters supply. Cheaper than direct from H

Pposey....within a 1/2 inch or so! Richard Richard is a little off ;D. I shot yesterday with my duplex N110(11grs)/H322(49grs), speed around 2600fps with both the 200SST and 200XTP and the center of my groups were within 7/16". The XTP went into a 0.8" group and SST went into a 1.5" group(my bad), as 95% of the groups with either of these combos on this gun goes sub MOA. I have not tried at 200 yards yet but will report when I go to the longer range. Also the 195 BarnesMZ will also group within 1/2-3/4" of the SST and XTP. That is another joy with the PacNor barrel you can interchange any of these three bullets without having POI change over an inch at 100 yards. CC
