Just curious if anyone has tried any of the Hawk 40 cal.s in their 45s. they show a 200 gr h.p. was thinking about seeing if they would make some spitzers with a .030 jacket.

I have a 40cal build coming up this spring, might be interested in some if they do a run for you.

Don't know anything about the 40's but the .451 and .458 bullets they made for several of us-on the whole I would say nearly all were disappointed in them.

Yes, possibly the poorest grouping bullet I have tried sabotless.
The .40 may be better since the bearing surface on the .451's was very short.

I've shot a few sabotless but poor groups were the norm, the bearing surface is very short
