Dog days of summer I guess.
A couple weeks back we shot at Camp Atterbury and at 800, 900 and 1,000yds
There's a second match in September, I believe the 11th and 12th. Three relays on Saturday all at 1k and two on Sunday. NO SMOKELESS though.
Currently working on a match in Michigan for next year at the MTC and at 1k.

Has this site died or just too hot to shoot? Me thinks it's just taking a nap....same with Hank's. For me, it is too warm right now for shooting. Will need to come up with something else to post about.

Now would be the time to bed your gun. You could let it in your car for one day and it would be dry from the heat. I know a guy that was working on a stock he was wet sanding it. And he said he was drying it in his truck outside in the sun. He laughs and said I baked the finish on it too. He said it did not take long to dry between coats setting in his truck to dry. He said the stock was so hot the next coat was drying as he was putting it on. I saw it when it was done and it really looked great it looked like a deep finish too.

No one can afford to shoot LOL.. or find anything to shoot for that matter lol. Many of us stocked up during the Trump years after lessons learned during the O'bummer years. I can shoot a few hundred times.....just wish I had stocked up more bullets, then I could have shot a few thousand times.

I think Cuda is right . NOW is the time to work on / refine our stuff . Refinishing , bedding , coatings or nitried , better triggers , etc . Range eqipment tool needs organized better . Theres truthfully alot we can do now to be ready or better suited for that when its not so miserable out . The component availability sure doesnt help either . The itch to shoot i got , the extra stuff not really . Hard to cool down barrels now too . Im waiting for closer to fall myself to go Bang with my muzzy . Plus im working on another one to be ready to go when its time when its not so HOT !!! I figured thats what everybody was doing . Either that or floating around in the pool . Good idea.....ttyl......

I have a small ammo can will all of my stuff in for my 45 and 50. The 45 I can shoot when it is hot outside but not the 50. The sabots for the 50 cannot take the heat the 45 is sabot less. All of gun have been clean a ready to go for months.

So I wonder how long baby blue sabots last when stored in a cool dry dark place?
As my eyes get older I have been forced to switch out some scopes on my centerfires. The one on the smokelessML is still good to go though. Nice thick heavy duplex.

I have adjusted my scopes with the rear focuser to get the cross hair the way I want them. I am 68 my right eye can see the cross hairs in any scope. I have a fine cross hair target scope on my 17hmr it is a fun little gun too.
