Cool. You just left the tips out after removal?? I ain't got the patience to sit and pry each tip up and out with a knife or whatever. I grab it with a pair of needle nose pliers twist, bend and yank them out. If one breaks off it comes shooting out when annealed The tips in these only weigh around 2-2.5gr. Tips removed, annealed and sized.

Good shootin Steve, that thing is really driving em. Awesome to see it's very repeatable too! It's about time to take the Shilen plunge, I hear rumor that the Shilen 40's are shooting unbelievable groups as well. I doubt I get rid of my Pacnor 40's, but they may take a back seat for sure.

What is the group size on the newest target? You are going to wear that thing out.

Very impressive shooting Steve. You could stick them bullets in the tumbler and make em look pretty.Haha I heated some of the tipped barnes up a little with the torch and the tips slide out easy then.
Myers129: I was told if you shot his 416 he was going to keep the brake in his pocket to give you a little pain. Haha

Great shooting, and the group is amazing. You finally got it dialed in. Who built the rifle for you, I know is was not Cole, I don't think he can built a rifle that shoots that good. Like guy stated, next time shoot 9 shots at 200 yrds and pick you group. I'm planing on taking mine out Sunday and see if I can even come close to that. It will be hard to beat.

I just put my .416 barrel back on today, I am opening the barrel channel up on my Manners T5A and going to take it out this weekend to shoot. Haven't shot it a lot lately because it was not to much fun to shoot in the other stock. It is 31.5" in front of action and 1" at the muzzle and 1-10" twist with HIS system. I have had no issues with it igniting any powder loads I've shot in it with 340 CEB or 350MH's.

Looks like it is better than .5 MOA again. Take that barrel off, you need a new challenge.

Here are two annealed 300gr TSX and an annealed 350 TTSX with tip removed recovered in shale rock at 200yds. The 350 TTSX annealed with tip removed seems to blow the front section off with remaining section still intact. I will have to find a few more to confirm.

Omega have you shoot any of these bullets in to ballistic gel to see what they would do? Fun watching your reports, you can make any gun shoot great job!

I got some new stock 350 TSX from Carlos and wanted to make sure everything was good to go so I shot a group at 100yds yesterday. Even with the "flyer" its under 1/2" center to center. Shilen 416 really likes the Barnes line of bullets.

Your shooting off a lead sled? I was thinking you used a front rest and rear bag for some reason.

Your shooting off a lead sled? I was thinking you used a front rest and rear bag for some reason. 15 or so shots the first day with Mr. 416 off a front rest and rear bag free recoil wasn't fun. Definitely not fun on the one shot I forgot to screw the brake back on. All other guns get shot off front rest and rear bag.

That's crazy, one tiny group after another with your .416...
Is the ignition a 209 primer? If so, what brand?
