I want to say its been a while since i've been here. From time to time id check around but i've been really busy. A While ago, almost 2 years, I got my Munden Encore barrel from Justin. First off its my go to gun now for deer hunting. The first year I had it I received it right before deer hunting and didn't shoot at anything. That year I killed an almost 160" 11 pointer during archery season so I wasn't real serious when it came to gun season. Last year I waited and waited. Then on the last day of 2nd season here in Illinois 4 does came out 135 yards away. I remember the days when 135 yards was an amazing shot but its child play for this gun. 1 shot boom flop....
I can shoot dead on from 100-200 without any compensation. Im shooting the Parker 325gr around 2780fps or so. My 300 yard groups were OK and I can really shoot well at LONG range but shooting a muzzleloader and rifle techniques are different. So until I become very good at 3-500 yards im holding off. Mine came with a nice 3.5" group at 500 yards that Justin himself shot so ive got a good load I just need to work on myself.
But anyway I love this muzzleloader. I just installed a Burris eliminator 2 on it and it will get me to 500 with my current load. Appox 56" drop with a 100 yard zero. Just need to make a chart for wind speed, direction and spindrift.
Im glad to be back!

He uses a special breech that uses a end of a 30-30 case which holds a Federal 215 primer. I use IMR4198 powder.

How much of the IMR4198 are you using? I am using 69gr of IMR4198 with a 300gr Rem and BCR and Win 209 in my 10ML-ll. I have it zeroed at 200yds too.

Yes I'll get you some pictures of it. As much as I would like to have a .416 sabotless technically I can't use one for deer hunting in Illinois. For some reson our projectile has to be .44 or larger which is .429... Illinois is a dumb state. It's ok to shot off 8 shots at a deer with a .357 but our projectiles for muzzleloaders has to be .429 or larger

That is the only perk to living in Illinois, I hunt property right in the middle of the golden triangle. We manage, food plot and can grow some giants.
My buddy that hunts with us has 2 others one with a giant drop tine non typical and a nice 150" 10pt

Got to clean up the box a bit... it flipped over. He also has a set of directions on what loads, how accurate, cleaning technique etc with the load data.

And it can hold groups together after whatever # of shots without erosion...70 gns IMR4198under a 325mh is pretty stout load....Carl's got it going on....

Yeah it kicks pretty good!! I'm gonna check my rate of twist. I was wanting to shoot the 275 match hunters at 3000 fps, but Iay stick with what's shooting good

I believe you could get some whatever bullet you like loads here....Luke and others have shot the 275 mh and have a good feel on some good loads for you to try....You got Kreiger cut barrel..we got button barrel pacnor or mcgowen.....IMO should shoot close. velocity wise...

Sounds good! I think my barrel is a 1-20. I may stick with my load so far. Groups good at all ranges. Honestly my longest shot would prolly be 300 yards max hunting so idk if I need all that extra velocity

Took it to the range today for sight in. 100 years my last 2 shots were almost on top of each other. The 2 shots measured .28"! It's 1.65" high at 100 yards. Plus it was miserable here. 95 degrees and 62% humidity
