if the Barnes you shot had the blue sabot, then yes, they are the same bullet. but if you shot the yellow they might shoot a bit different.

blackpowder.. I'm testing some of the Barnes right now.
I have Barnes 250 Spit-Fire TMZ's... they are blue tipped and come with a yellow sabot. They are a boat tailed bullet.
I also have Barnes Spit-Fire 250 T-EZ... they are blue tipped and come with a blue sabot. They are a flat based bullet.
Is yours a boat tail or flat based bullet ?

blackpowder... I just checked Knight's website and it seems to me the bullets you have ... PBT (stands for polymer tipped, boat tail) are the same as the Barnes 250 TMZ... except Knight packages them with a different color (blue) easy loading sabot.
I have the 250 Barnes TMZ... they are blue tipped, boat tailed in a yellow sabot.. and it's not easy loading.
So.. to answer to question, you have the Barnes TMZ bullets, but it may be in a different sabot. But that easy load sabot you have will probably work better in the Encore.
WOW... I'm confused ... hope this helps.

Allow me to jump in here, I on Friday shot some Harvester PT Gold Polymer tipped bullets in 300 grain with the supplied Harvester black crushed Ribbed sabot. I used 110 grain charges by volume of BH209.
My first two shots produced accuracy unacceptable to me, and while loading them in my 209x50 Encore I noticed they loaded extremely easy. I have found after firing something like 2500 shots out of two different MLs that a sabot/bullet combo that load's loosely is usually the kiss of death to your accuracy. I knurled the next three I shot and they gave me a MOA 100 yrd three shot group. I did not have my calipers with, but I knurled them between two flat Nicholson coarse files for 20-25 seconds using moderately hard pressure. My point being if a bullet shoots poorly out of you ML and it loads vary loosely, you may want to consider knurling them to increase their OD. It has worked for me with two different bullets used in two different MLs.
Oh BTW, I'm the guy that recommended the new Harvester CR yellow sabots design for use spacificly with Knight/Barnes (Barnes makes all of Knights all copper ML bullets and they are identicle to the Barnes versions) boat tailed bullets. They worked excellent for me, in my LIMITED testing of firing only less than 20 shots, but word of caution. I knurled my Knight TMZs up to a larger OD to get them to seal tightly in my 10ML-II. Im shooting these with 75grn charges of RL-10X. My best guess at the FPS is at or above 2400fps.
Hope this helped. Arthur.

one of my friends went shooting yesterday [ it was very cold]he was shooting the BARNES TMZ.290 gr. blue tip and blue sabot [sold by KNIGHT]with 2 T7 pellets [100gr] at 100yds the bullet would not touch the target [he said it was very easy to load] he then loaded his TRIUMPH with 2 magnum T7 pellets [150 gr] and he was on target and was surprized to see that they were all at 3/4 of an inch ..i think the cold weather interacts with the SABOTS ..
also thank you artjr338wm for ur infos...

Blackpowder, it has been MY EXPERIENCE that cold usually has little affect on sabots made by MMP, Harvester, or Barnes/Knight, and I have shot at the range in temps in the low 20s. However, anything much above 50* and you are more likely than not to start having problems. I generally avoid shooting my MLs in temps above 70*, its just not worth the hassles.
