I heard from Dave that the orders have been coming in for these bullets so i owe it to the guys to show how they perform. Saturday 4/4/2009 we will be shooting pigs with these bullets. ;D There will be three of us going and hopefully all three of us using Muzzleloaders and these bullets. I really plan on using the 200grn lehighbullets.com/products.asp?cat=23These bullets are my favorite. Most would say a 200grn bullet is light for a Hog but i think these bullets will perform excellant. If the first Hog isnt harvested cleanly with it, my second Pig will be shot with a 250grn bullet. The two Muzzleloaders i will be taking will be Knight Disc Elites, both in 45 and 50cal. The 45 Disc Elite will be using 125 to 140grns of BH209 to harvest a pig. If all works as planned, it will harvest both of them. I do have some of these bullets coming with ballistic tips coming on them. I have no plans now of using the ballistic tip bullets on this hunt. My one friend will be using a T/C Triumph with the 250grn Lehigh bullet with around 115 to 125grns of BH209. The other guy i'm not sure. No big deal either way. We should have some good info to share when done.

hello grouse ...shure hope that they work for u ..i will also check on ur update ..i don't mind the extra cost of bullets in a hunting situation [only allowed 1 deer per season] but i want a bullet with a massif blood trail ...TOO OLD TO RUN AFTER THEM ..

Grouse Did Lehigh send you some of the plastic tipped 200 grainers to test in your .45. I figured they did and am looking forward to your results. I miss your commentary over on the other place. Wayles

Grouse...Wondering why the boat tail and the knurling. No boat tail means better lands engagement and cheaper to make. The knurling detracts from the arodynamics and costs more to mfg. would have more choices of sabots with the flat base and less chance of failure with maximum charges. If I remember correctly you shot the .40 LH with the light blue flat base sabot? Its bound to work a tad better if the base was flat. Just my thoughts because once these guys go into production they are not gonna be wantin to change stuff. I would just like to have them get it right the first time for their sake and ours. Wayles

Wayles, The knurling will allow the bullet to grip and rotate with the sabot and follow the rifling. That will be more accurate in my opinion. The Boattail was already taken off the 250grn bullets. Atleast it's very small. Same with the 200grainers. The Hollow point bullets right now are being sold that way. I have not noticed any difference in accuracy between the two yet.
The Ballistic tip bullets will be tested after the Hog hunt. I did shoot a few but not many.

Grouse.. I can't imagine the sabot not being tight enough on the bullet to the not grip the bullet any way with out the knurling . The 200 SSt does not need knurling and its shorter and smooth, still seem to shoot excellent, Just my opinion. Glad they are doing away with the boat tail. Wayles

Okay, so I'm curious, what Preserve in PA are you hunting? Sure would like to hear your opinion on the one you visit--as well as the bullet test. Thanks, good luck! Have a great day! Dave
