700ml I'm buying has a swift scope on it. Not yet sure of model or power range, but generally, are these decent scopes? Will they take SML recoil?
If it's a good scope I may keep it otherwise it's off to ebay or something to recover some $ for my build.

Swift scopes used to be decent. Again your dealing with a importer. Swift scopes are mainly built in Korea by a optics company that mainly makes binos and spotting scopes (Leupold is a big customer). In the past they always had a problem with eye relief but for the money were decent. With riflescopes they now have to lines, the Reliant and the Premier, newer Premier scopes will have a red ring on the objective. The Reliant scopes are Chinese components and only carry a 5 year warranty. The Premier line is their top line with a lifetime warranty but still suffer from low eye relief. They have updated to 30mm tubes and side focus but the prices for those models have jumped to the $400 range and at that price you can buy Vortex or some of the Weaver Super Slams over at Natchez. They do have a couple of models that have "Sur-Lok" for heavy recoilers where you can lock the coil style erector spring like you could with the old Burris scopes. Before buying one be aware of the specs. CS supposedly has even improved since a bankruptcy forced a split between the "school" optics, telescopes and microscopes, and the sporting optics.

Thanks. This one's coming on the gun as part of the price. I'll update this thread when it gets here with specific model and spec info.

If it is a Premier model you can always put it on and kill it then get a NIB one to sell on Ebay. At least you would get more money that way instead of selling just a used one.

The Vortex line is good value for the money you spend. I would put a Viper PST against a Leupold Mark 4 anyday and the PST is half the price. With the Viper HS line they really pumped the glass up and runs with a Conquest now. While the low end Crossfires may not survive on a 10ML they would work on rimfires and low kickers.
But then there is the customer service and the VIP warranty. Guys were buying the Crossfires for $99 and were killing them and CS let them upgrade to a Viper model for like half price. I've seen them replace a pair of binos that got ran over by a ATV and a board member here got a tripod replaced that he backed over with his pick-up.

Swift Premier Scopes aren't too bad at all unless you've been looking through some better glass; even Bushnell Elites, and then sit behind a Swift and you'll immediately see the difference in glass. The Swift's glass is yellow in comparison to the Elite's. They work well and I've never had a problem, but the glass is what it is.
