is the 700ml the best action to start a build on? seems that way beings they are dirt cheap-$200 and a solid bottom action. what are the advantages of going a regular 700,7 or savage 10? where is this link you all talk about for the video on building one? i am a former tool and die maker and am EXTREMELY interested in building one. really wanting a weatherby style stock. any suggestions on who to look at for one to fit a remington that is not finished?

Built on the 700ML the hunter boltnose conversion holds the 209 primer and engages it into the Savage 10ML-II breechplug. Most are using this setup because we have two barrel companies (McGowen and Pacnor) that make a barrel for us (DMB's & DD's) and ready to go bolt parts etc. I know of no video, but there are two pictured tutorials (both on page two) of this build section for the hunter bolt and headspacing. As far as building on a centerfire action and bolt, you need a .308 size boltface, a Pete's breechplug, and you use cut down primed centerfire cases for ignition. The 700ML is the easiest and cheapest route we have for a bolt gun short of already having a 10ML-II Savage and rebarreling it. There are several break action conversions too.
