Well it's been tough this year. After 17 years, I decided to close my business down for good September 30. I haven't even wanted to hunt much, but after waking up early again and not being able to go back to sleep, I thought I might as well head to the woods. This buck is not very big, but man it felt good to be back in my tree again, and this buck sure brought a smile. This is the 65th deer I have taken out of this tree in 24 years, but this one is really special. He was taken with my 45-70 Encore SMI conversion at 70 yards with 61gr n-120, Barnes 195, harvester smooth blue sabot, and CCI209m. Dropped on impact and never moved. JDMAX

Congrats and enjoy the moment. It’s not always the size that brings smiles but sometimes it’s what lies behind the hunt.

There is something therapeutic about being in the woods and having time to reflect. Congrats on the buck! That combo is potent bambi medicine. ;D

I've got a tree like that too, but have not killed anywhere close to the number of deer you have! I call it the "killin" tree". It has served me well over the years.
