I recently started reloading the 7MM rem mag and noticed the primers aren't seating 100% with my lee hand primer. It works fine with all other calibers I load for. Anyone else experienced this? Wanting recommendations on a solid and consistent priming device.
Thanks

Yep! I have a RCBS CaseMate Prep Center set up with VLD case neck chamfer, Primer Pocket reamer, primer pocket brush, outside neck deburrer and flash hole deburrer. Those same tools are available with a handle for hand use, but I'm lazy, and it gets tiring when you're prepping 500+ cases for the first time.
I only have to deburr the flash holes and ream the primer pockets once. That makes all the primer pockets the same depth. I chamfer the necks, and only have to hit them again if I trim the case.
I'll use the primer pocket brush to scrape the residue out, but some guys say it's not necessary. I think that whatever I can do to make the cases more uniform will only help with the group size.

The Casemate by RCBS is quite handy, I use one as well. It's not an issue of dirty pockets, it's a combination of the shell holder and the stroke of the tool. I have the same problem with new brass. I think I'll give Lee a call and see what they say. Thanks for the input.

Depending on the brand of brass you use the lip on the rim (yes I know it is considered rimless but don't know what else to call the piece of a case held by the bolt and the shell holder) may be a little thinner and give it too much slack. I would see if I had a tighter case holder. A 6 usually holds them a little tighter than the 4 if I remember correctly. I ran into the same problem about 10 days ago while loading 7 mags for a friend. With the 6.5x55 you have to use completely different shell holders all around when using european brass than the books suggest.the entire head is too large for an RCBS holder and very tight in the LEE.
