Have a friend who is having fits getting his TC to shoot.
Any tips on reloading this particular gun? OR..any tips regarding the hinge or headspacing?

According to Mike Bellm, T/C's QC often does not do its job. When they build the ones that shoot, they really shoot. But sometimes someone gets in a hurry and the chamber is not straight with the bore. If that is the case with your friend's Encore, nothing will make it shoot. I got one from T/C in .25-06 in mid-late '90's like that. The best it would do was 4". Sent it back to them and they sent it back to me with a dirty barrel with no explanation. After that, I got custom barrels only for the Encore and they do shoot. Bellm sells oversize hinge pins, trigger kits, etc. It may be of some help to go to his web page: www.bellmtcs.com/store/

i had a heck of a time getting my 25-06 to shoot.I tied everything.Trigger jod, hinge pin, full length resizing, neck sizing only.I finaly did a cheap pillar bedding of the forend. Now it is a tack driver. The forend puts alot of stress on the barrel.Espcially the plastic ones.I used the lugs for T/C's quick disconnect forend.I use it on all my barrels even my SML barrel.Works great

Try cleaning the barrel every 10 rounds or so. By meaning, I mean getting ALL the copper out. I have a 7-08 Encore that I bought in '97 and it's very rough. After 10 rounds I would have to take about 30 min and scrub it with JB Bore paste, then swab out with shooters choice, then do a couple of alternating rounds of Barnes CR-10 copper remover and Shooters Choice. It would take me about 30 min to get patches out with no green on them. Actually, the CR-10 is strong enough that the patches come out blue instead of green. Then I'd shoot 2 or 3 fowling shots and it would start shooting well again. 10 rounds later and the accuracy would go to pot. I finally tried moly coating the bullets and that did the trick. If frequent cleaning does the job for you, then you may want to try moly plating your bullets. I'd try the cleaning first though before I invested the time, $$, and effort into plating the bullets.
Just my 2 bits, Mark
