Hi, i got a Knight Magnum Disc Rifle in 50cal.it use's the Orange Primer 209 disc holder's.I want to get the Extreme's Converion Kit that use's the Red 209 Primers. Now the reason i want it is this.I want to start shooting BH 209 all the time in it.I have had only 1 hang-fire with it and my older style orange 209 Primer holder's.But i don't want to risk any more hang-fires.I understand that the Extreme's Kit with the Red 209 Primer Holder's and a CONCAVE Type Breach Plug.Has no hang-fires either. Which type Breach Plug comes with the EXTREME's Conversion Kit? Concave? Doom? Flat? Any body know which one comes with it?
PS: ya i know/heard that Knight is going to come out with a Ret-Tro kit for there guns to be able to use BH 209 better. But i like the Disc Holders better and from what i have seen on the NET ,these Ret-Tro Kits will not use the Disc Holders and also have a Real Long Breech Plug

I will not try to talk you out of getting the conversion kit. We have 3 disc's like yours at our camp, The 2 that are still used regularly are WITH the conversion kit. These were supposed to make the bolt area less messy...and what else...I don't know.
Either way, they are still messy. As for hang fires, my Orange discs have never failed me. I will add that I would not be surprised if you told me that you used pellets of some form. Or loose SUBS. I would not be surprised if you told me that some times your breech plug is getting very fouled and you still shoot a few more. Keeping the breech plug clean...MAX 6-8 shots...and using blackpowder and either version will go bang. Also, when shooting heavy charges like we do, it is easy to stick these plugs...of either version. I have personally broke 2 factory wrenches on stuck plugs. (Well lubed ones)
I remeber that back when these guns were converted, the kit was about $90.
Good luck either way. Sounds like BH209 is a whole new ballgame and my experiences with these guns may not matter.

No wilmsmeter, this gun has nerver seen real Black powder and it nerver will either.and NO to useing Pellet Form either. The 1 hang-fire was with BH209 and i truly believe it was cause from a slightly mis-aline primer in the orange disc holder to the hole in the back of the breech plug.Thats why i want to Convert it over to the EXTREMES Convesion I will not try to talk you out of getting the conversion kit. larryfox1, I recently (last month) purchased the Disc Extreme 209 conversion you want from Mid-South for $92. It came with the Knight concave breach plug that Grouse recommends for BH209. I intend to use it in an original DISC rifle I found cheap. Haven't tried it yet. Here's the link from Mid-South. But I see they are on back-order now: www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=00061900607

I email Knight asking about if the EXTREME Conversion Kits came with a CONVAVE Breech Plug and the answer was YES,I also about Them ReT-Tro Fitting some of there older models with the New Breech Plug for BlackHorn 209 Powders. Below is what they said back to me in a CUT&PASTE from MY EMAIL i got from KNIGHT
The conversion you speak of is the 900607 kit. It comes with the concave breech plug as you are looking for. As of right now Knight have no plans on making any breech plug design changes to accommodate for the use of this Blackhorn powder. Hope this helps, thanks.

larryfox1... I'm not surprised with Knight's Customer Service response. They're generally very helpful... but seem to be out of the loop on new things. Someone on another site asked them about the new Ulitimate Slam rifle... and they never heard of it. The next week Knight introduced it at the Shot Show !
