Gentlemen, I bought a Rock River AR varmint rifle. The forearm has a standard female swivel mount and the butt has a steel loop that measure roughly1.25 inches X1/2. I am looking for a hunting sling that I can put this rifle over my shoulder to carry,THATS IT. I don't need a tactical sling. Any suggestions? Thanks !!!!!

OK, I've got the solution for you! Just order the KNS rear swivel stud from Brownell's (it replaces your rear military sling loop) provided you have the standard A2 style stock. Then, you can use any rifle sling you have around that has detachable sling swivel loops on it. Here is a pic of my AR with the KNS stud on the buttstock.... Make sure to use a good sling. I had a cheap one on my AR, and more than once it came unravled allowing it to slide through the swivel. Most of the time I've caught it on the way down, but the last time I went out for yotes this winter, I was only able to catch the butt of the rifle with one hand. The barrel rotated down and the rifle landed square on the objective of my Elite 4200 4~16x50 scope. It did rattle the scope a bit, and it shifted my POA by about 2" at 200 yards. I've re-zeroed and it now seems to be holding up fine, but I have this sneaking suspicion that the scope will eventually die because of this incident.
