My $600 Cabalas Outfitter tent sustained a rip in the nylon located below the bottom zipper that is as almost as long as the zipper itself, over 2 feet in length.
I most likely could repair it myself, but have no knowledge about how to do so, nore access to any eqipment beyond a needle and thread, so the repair would be strong enough to endure the abuse it would be subject to being located in the highest traffic location of the tent, and also be 100% water proof as being water proof is absolute mandatory as this tent is the shelter I use for elk and turkey hunting, times of the year who's weather is likely to have rain in it.
I know a awning company most likely could do this repair, but seeing as it is a tent who's water proofness must be absolute, I am quite Leary of taking a chance with a company who may or may not be familiar with tent repairs and water proof ones at that. I know I will most likely have to do the water proofing my self by applying a coating such as "Tent Sure" to the repair once done, but the methods used to repair the rip will affect any WP coatings effectiveness IMHO.
So if anyone knows of a company who can repair a major rip such as the one I describe or has any suggestions that might point me in the right direction, please share them with me.
Thanks, Arthur.

I know Eureka will repair their tents at the factory. A guy I know melted a big hole in his when one of those tikki oil lamps got knocked over. He sent it back to the factory and I was expecting a patch job but they actually replaced the whole panel for like $40 (+$200 tent). Call up Cabelas CS and cry like a pregnant dog and see what they come up with.
A awning or tarp repair place might be able to fix it and just seal the seams afterwards.
