Ok so I did it finally. I bought some glass for my KRB. I have been doing research for weeks and drueling and dearming over some pretty expensive scopes. Today after the wife left for work I loaded to kids in the car drove to Bass Pro and bought a Redfield Revolution 4X12-40 Accurange, and a set of Leupold rings and bases to mount it with. Now I just need to find time to mount it.

Two questions and a statement. First off when you mount your bases do you use thread locker on the screws? Second with these Leupold bases the rear base has a windage adjustment on it how do you make sure that is centered? Finally i bought low rings against the advice of the sales man and I have clearance between my barrel and scope bell.

Yes use blue threadlocker..clean the screw's with alcohol..and just a small drop of thread locker... The base's... I am not sure..I only have a couple sets on from years back.. Not comfortable with them really anymore..Now I use warne ring's and bases... But I am quite sure there is nothing wrong with Leupold. Just eyball them make sure your scope windage is centered and go from there Drop

I use the blue thread locker on all the screws. Just use sparingly, it doesn't take much if the screws are free of oil.
Let us know how the scope holds up. From what I have looked thru them the glass seems decent for the price but if they are like the Rifleman series they may not hold up to the recoil of the 10ML.
I like the lines of the new Redfield, slim and clean The glass could be a bit better but while not as good as say a 3200, Fullfield II or a Vortex Diamondback, the scope cost less. Off hand I would rank it with the Nikon Prostaff and the Bushnell Trophy XLT. Supposedly the new Redfields are built tough so we will see.

Personally I had a Trophy, it came on the gun when I bought it and I looked at the Trophy XLT series and the Revolution is way better is glass quality. Bass Pro did not have any 3200's in store or I would have looked at them too. I can see a little differnce in clarity from a Pro-Staff but not a Buckmaster so I put it somewhere in between. I just hope the physical quality is good. The hardest recoiling load I have shot to date from my KRB is 325 FTX pushed by 120 gr. BH209 and that load is not that accurate the 110 gr. load is more accurate. It's looking like my hunting load is going to be a 265 gr. FTX pushe by 120 gr. BH209. I can't imagine this thing failing they list ballistics for a 300 Win Mag on the website that has to reecoil harder that a ML.

By the way thanks for all of your wisdom form the other thread, The redfields mayt not be made from american parts but they are assembled in america and carry a lifetime warranty against defects and the transfers if I sell it. My next build is going to be a woodchuck rifle and that will wear a top notch scope.

I managed to get her sighted in today. It took me a while to figure out how to zero the windage portion of the bases. Once I did four shots at 100 yds. has her dead nuts. Curret load is a Hornady .451 240gr. XTP, in a MMP HPH24, pushed by 80gr. BH209 and lit by a Win 209. That is one accurate load. i love this gun can't wait to nail some woodchucks with her.
