I have used the neato small flashlights that use the CR123A photo batteries for some time. They provide a very bright light and make the old Maglite obsolete, IMHO.
Trouble is, they eat batteries, and the CR123's are badly expensive. Walmart carries only Energizers in these, you can only find them in the camera section, and they are about $10 for a pack of 2.
Today I got the MidSouth Shooters Supply catalog and was reading it in the........um......'library'.........and there on page 217 is a 12-pack of these batteries for $19.99!!!
I just ordered one.....I keep one of these flashlights everywhere, and always have two in my pack when I go hunting. If this price holds up, and the product arrives as advertised, I'll get some more!

i have found that in my electronic items, radios, rangefinders, cameras, and flash lights that the energizer lithium last the longest to the point of making it worth the price. radios last 3 times as long.

I would like to find these CR123A batteries in rechargeable but they are almost impossible to find. The ones I have bought on ebay don't last over three charges. I also have a great xenon flashlight that eats the batteries. thanks for the tip on Midsouth. Doug

I changed a couple of my Maglites over to LCD bulbs. The batteries now last very long. I also buy my batteries in bulk from a place called Batteries and Butter. Good service and cheap www.batteriesandbutter.com/
