looks to be a better version of the "caldwell rock rest" i have, except with more bells & whisltes that are much needed,i would recommend it without actually shooting off that rest with my past w/ the rock. good luck!

I would have to agree with Deadeye. It definitely appears to be a much better version of the Rock. In particular, I don't like the the way the windage adjustment works on the Rock. It just "pivots" side to side which tends to put torque on the bag and subsequently the forend. This rest looks like it actually slides side to side like all of the higher quality rests. My lead sled had the same arrangement and I removed it altogether. Richard

This is a 100% snap judgement, but that rest looks a whole lot like the one made and sold by Sinclear shooting supplies.

Art...........don't believe it! I just pulled my Sinclair catalog and they do not have any style base which resembles that one. It is definitely more a clone resembling the Rock.........which is actually a take off of the original high quality Bald Eagle "Slingshot" rest. None of these hold a candle to the Bald Eagle. These cheap rests leave a lot to be desired in terms of stability and precision. They are a good alternative for the everyday hunter/shooter who is not in competition. Not saying that you cannot shoot a good group off of them, but when you look at smoothness and tightness of the QUALITY rests, you can see why the serious competitors use them. Their down side is the looseness in the main shaft and the components above the base. Richard

Clone or not don't matter much as long as it does its job

It does its job depending on its intended use. If your a hunter or casual shooter and are looking for something better than just an Uncle Bud's Bulls Bag, then it will more than do its job. On the other hand if your a long range or short range COMPETITIVE benchrest shooter and are trying to support a 17 lb. or heavier gun and it has some movement in it, then it is not the rest you want to be shooting off of............and will not do its job.
