If one wants to shoot a lot in the off season...and do it on the cheap....you can.
Using XTP's - 25 cent each for 250's Pimers: 3 cents each powder: 7000/42 gr = 166 shots. $18.00 lb / 166 = 11 cents a shot sabots: $8 for 50 = 16 cents each
Shot cost 55 cents a shot. "Box of 20"?....$11.00. If you reload for a centerfire, you'd be hard pressed to beat that!
100 rounds? $55.00.
Compare:
100 rounds of High tech slugs? $300 - $400
100 rounds of turkey or goose loads? $100 - $400. Even "cheapies" are expensive
100 rounds of .357 ammo loaded with XTP's? $100 bucks.
About the only gun you could shoot cheaper is a rimfire!

Who makes this 7000 powder. Tell me a little about it. He means 7000 gr/lb.

Oh ya, I knew that. I hadn't had any coffee yet. Always best to make a fool of yourself first thing in the morning so you can get on with the day.

My .45 Vincent/Ohio half stock percussion shoots a patched round ball with black for about .32 a shot ;D Seriously, economical shooting is one reason I have shot my Savage more this winter--about 300 rds--than my other T/C inlines. My Omega with Blackhorn209 is over .90 a shot. A 100 to 120 grn load, measured by volume, is 50 cents or more just for the powder. Reloder7 in my Savage costs me about .21 a shot for the powder;D I could shoot loose Pyrodex or 777 in my Omega and come close to matching that cost, but who wants the mess? Savages are not perfect, but they are relatively cheap to shoot. And sabotless would be even cheaper! If I bought a .45 barrel and shot XTP's sabotless it would take about 2000 shots to save $320 by not having to buy sabots and the barrel would about pay for itself I wonder if my wife will buy this plan....?

cgg; Its been several years since I have seen a vincent rifle. My dad had one 45+ years ago. I was born and raised about 10 miles from Vincent, Ohio.

Sometime ago a fellow was asking about round ball shooting in a ML II. This board generally was not receptive to the idea. As I recall economy was the reason he chose. In particular, he was not fond of the sabot cost.

I always keep a bunch of 250 XTPs in stock for entertainment purposes. Blasting milk jugs full of water seems to entertain the type of people I associate with .

Add a box of 3" .410 shells of any brand, any load!
Add any BP equivalent load for any other inline ML.
But as far as being hard pressed reloading CF?? Depends on the CF! My 7mm WSM costs more, my .25-06 about the same, but my Tac 20 reloads for a little less per round than a .17hmr rimfire round!
