I've been using a 36gr grenades and liking the accuracy out of the T/C but I don't think there right for my coyote shooting. I have them Smoking at around 4300 fps, they seam to be braking up on contact and not when there in side the animal. I have hit several knocking them down only to have them spring back up and run as fast as a normal coyote. I'm sure there hit very hard and will die but I have tracked some of them over a mile and still no fur...When they do go in they have been devastating, but most have exited the coyote and left a huge hole or many holes. I'm going to try a 50 gr V-Max with 33.5 gr 8208/CCI 200 primer. It shouldn't be as fast and I hope the bullet will preform differently. I need to get it in to a coyote soon, they group all touching at 100 yards. The wind should not bother them as much either, I hope

If you like the light bullets try 34.5 grs of 10X and a 40 gr nosler BT. Or you can use the hornady 40 gr v-max too.

Use heavier bullets for dogs or you lose a few. Light bullets blow up and don't penetrate. They were made for prairie dogs, ground hogs and small varmints. Mike

I agree with mike3132. I recommend a Sierra 60gr HP and 40grs of H-380. One of the most awesome .22/250 powders. I tried Hornady 60grHP's but they wouldn't stabilize in my Rem 700. The Sierras shoot bugholes and clock at 3505fps in my 24"bbl rifle. I don't know what twist you're shooting but if it's not faster than mine at 1/14" you won't have any better luck. To me a 22/250 has a case size nearly that of a .243 so you may as well get the horsepower out of it. The 60gr bullet will buck the wind a little better also. Good shooting!

Ever try the new 8208? I'm getting the speed and it's temperature resident. When you shoot in -40* and the same loads at +95* that is important.

XBR 8208 I'm thinking is a Hybrid powder like Hodgdon Hybrid100V. In the new manual hodgdon refers to 8208 as an extreme powder which makes me think that they are manufacturing it for IMR. Myself, I think 8208 is on the cusp of being too fast burning for the 22/250 case volume. It may work with the light stuff O.K. but in the case of a 35-40lb coyote I think a 60gr bullet will extend your kill zone.

8208 is IMR's version of Benchmark.
