How important do you guys think a torque wrench is for tightening action to stock as far as accuracy goes? Also I have been told you tighten the screw closes to the muzzle first, Is this true and do you tighten it all the way? Thanks, Rusty

I always tighten the front to snug then the back to snug. Then go back to the front and retighten again all with the gun standing on the buttpad. That is the way I have tightened the action screws for years. Not knowing about what torque they should be. It was just the way I did it so the recoil lug was solidly held.

I like cuda's method. I have a wheeler torque wrench and a little 1/4drive torque wrench from Harbor Freight. They both seem to be set about the same. I think as long as you do it the same each time is where your accuracy will be helped. But I do believe in torquing to the same # each time. Good Luck Drop
