I tried them in my Savage a couple years ago and they did not shoot well with 5744 or 4759 and HPH12's or 24's. But it turns out that I never had much luck with anything else in that rifle with those powders and sabots...
That bullet did shoot very well and kill some deer for me out of a T/C Black Diamond and an Omega. I don't know how it would do with Savage velocities.

I think you will find a 300 gr,.458 bullet with either an MMP orange sabot or a harvestor black crush rib sabot is likely to be more accurate in most rifles. Of course a .452 300 gr hornady xtp with an mmp sabot was the benchmark for many years.

I was looking for something to play with for sabotless in 45. Everything is sold out as far as xtp's, so I came accross these and was curious. The rem. 458 300 was my next choice, as resizing won't be a problem. Time will tell I suppose

Moto357, I just ordered the Hornady #45230, the XTP 300 grainer, from ManVenture Outpost. I know they have three more boxes in stock as of an hour ago.
