My rifle shoots 300gr Parkers, with no resizing or knurling, I run them thur my Lee .450, to make them round. This group may not be up to some of you folks standards, but for this old man its just fine. While I only post my good groups this is not a one time group, Parkers are very accurate and would be my pick, for Deer size game.

You ought to believe that as much as I believe your target is not up to standards.

Steve,
There are old men and old men, I saw your picture you have a long way to go to get in the old man club, and by all means don't hurry
Rick,
Its your rifle that shoots those groups, All I do is pull the trigger, I think you will agree, in bench shooting its the rifle that makes the groups, of couse, its does pretty fair offhand, with old man sticks. ;D ;D ;D

To dougedwards: I think that die made those bullets more rectangular and hence the hole. ;D Nice shooting.

I guess they weren't ballistic tip extremes either ? I wouldn't want or need the hydra-con either so should I just ask Bob for the "BigMoose 300gr Specials" ? : )

Rex,
No I have not, I really have no use for them, while I go deer hunting, I will not shoot another dear. I just sight on them and say bang, got you. Never the less I enjoy being the field with a loaded rifle. We have hogs here, and I say bang to them too.

Could hit a mouse behind the shoulder at 100 yds or more. Or the tick on a dog's a$$. Not bad shooting. I'd bring it over 1/4 inch and call it good. ;D

I only post good groups, I may shot another 1000, before getting a good group, but I do have one smaller, shot with 300gr Scorpain, resized and knurled. What do they say about even a blind Squirrel getting lucky now and than. Good Luck to all

If you can figure it out with a bathroon scale, I'll try.
It will be high I'm sure, my main load is a Barnes 290gr TMZ, resized and knurled, much more than my .50 I resize the TMZ than knurl it to .450.5 It is a super accurate load, 53gr.H4198 WW, load and shot. Like Wilmsmeyer, I use H4198, for all loads, .45 and 50

rex,
Once Barnes made the flat-based TMZ, I'm out of the market for new bullets. It is all I'm looking for in .45 caliber In my .50 I shot Barnes 350gr X bullets, I believe its a better killer than 375 H&H, 68grs of H4198 makes it a great penetrator, With the weather in Alaska, I may be able to shot 70grs.
