Anyone have an experience with one of these? www.cheaperthandirt.com/ARR059-7.htmlWas wondering if I could shoot .22 shorts from it. I suspect I'd have to manually cycle the bolt but that's ok, I was thinking for indoor plinking and go with regular .22lr stuff outdoors. Certainly cheaper than a .22 upper, and the reviews seem decent.

We would sometimes use those in the Army, the M261 RFA (RimFire Adapter). The ones we used were marked Colt and a tad different. For plinking they are alright but accuracy wise they blow oats past 45ft. That is why we only used them for a 15 meter range. The ones we had the portion that adapts the chamber is not rifled so you loose a lot of gas. Never tried them with shorts. They probly would not have worked with the POS magizines we had to use, I see the ones now are different.

Thanks. Reviews are saying accuracy out to 50 yds ok. I would mostly use it for indoors so distance wouldn't be as much a concern. I don't know if they are rifled or not, I don't see how they could be and match up with individual barrels.

I have used other Ciener conversions on pistols. Some were very nice, others have had some problems. Ciener can be difficult to deal with if there are problems, and don't believe what they say about accuracy, a used 10-22 will out shoot it all day long.
