I recieved this as a gift from a hunting buddy...said he had one and it was great for helping take off the hide. I have been using it two years now, and I have to say it works great. Faster to pull the hide off and less wear and tear on my hands / fingers. I gave it a workout last month when I was skinning two deer when the temperature was in the teens and they had been hanging for two days. (I will post a comment on the deer in the back porch under food plot comments) I don't know where he got it, but the tool has "foreverlast.com" forged into it. They have in on their web site under processing equipment. I am sure you can find it elsewhere.

I've seen them in cabela's catalogs I think. I've also heard that if you take a golf ball, and wrap the hide aroud it, then tie it off with a rope, you can then use the rope to pull the hide off. Good way to use a winch or something like that.

If you pull the hide using the golf ball or rock. Put an old bed sheet or something around the tree, it will keep the carcass from getting full of bits of bark. A deer shot in the shoulder may lose that shoulder with the hide. Use a stout rope and tree it pulls very hard until the hide is past the shoulder.
I have become a 'skin them when the carcass is warm' guy. Much easier that way.

I use the winch on my ATV! Slips them right out their hide!
