I used the Savage last year to kill all three of my deer. This year I shot two with my Encore 260 Rem pistol, three with my 357 Max Encore rifle, and finally got one with my Savage 10mlII Thursday night. I saw three does come into the corn field at 100 yds, got lined up on them but they took off to 200 yds, got lined up again, and then they spooked out of the field. Finally had one nice doe come out at 317 yds, ranged her, put the bottom ballistic plex dot on her chest and squeezed it off. She made a circle in the field and ran off. I walked out to check and found her track in 24in of snow. No blood for 30 yds but then found the spray. Another 10 yds and there she layed, 115lb doe. Yeah!!! The hard part was the drag to the truck. I walked back and shed some clothes and grabbed my mule, which helped pack down the trail back to the deer a little. Had to be the hardest drag ever, but I lived to tell about it. Load was 300gr BO, BCR, CCIM, and 5/65 duplex of n110/H4198 at avg. 2566 fps. Caliber size hole in and quarter size out, cutting the heart and shredding the lungs. Absolutely happy with the BO now. Last year shot 2 with the 300 Rem, had total bullet disenigration, but 2 very dead deer, and last one was with the BO, broke both shoulders and passed thru, so now with this one I am sold! I want to try the 325 ftx now due to price, but it may have to wait.
Thanks fellas, Jay.

Excellent report and story! You will be hard pressed to find a bullet to out perform the BO at all angles and ranges! The 325 FTX MAY come close... 24 inches of snow? Where are you at man?

Great shot!! What's the trajectory on that load? I've been shooting the Remington 300 BCR at 2175 FPS. 3 in. high @ 100, Zero @ 170, 3 in. low @ 200 then it drops like a rock after that. 26 in low @ 300. Said I'd never duplex or shoot $1.00 a shot bullets but I might start. Thanks Warren

We got smashed with 30+ inches of lake effect snow up here near LaPorte last week. Five to six foot drifts in spots too! With my 3X9 Burris ballistic plex, the main crosshair is on at 100, 1st dot 200, 2nd dot, 250, and last dot is 300yd. I think the drop between 100 and 300 was around 15in or so. Very nice shooting setup now that it's dialed in.
