Climbed up in the stand at 3:30 this afternoon, and there was a small coyote trying to catch a mouse out in the middle of the corn field. I took my time, took my back pack off, and got everything set up. I tried using my range finder, but the battery connections had some corrosion and it didn't want to work so I put it away. I figured she was about 225 yards out. I set the gun up in the fork on a medium size branch and then touched the shot off. She went down, got back up and spun around a few times, and then went down for good. After dark I climbed down and paced off 250 yards to the carcass. I hit her about 2" high and 3" back. She was angled, and the 300gr SST came out right at the front edge of her back leg. Wish a doe would have come out to investigate

Good shot, good kill. I will take any coyote I see. Hopefully, a few more fawns and other wild critters will survive.
