I don't own a savage yet, however I am gathering all the info I need, a one piece base would give me options to mount whatever scope I want to, from an eotech to whatever scope I want, how much does this limit operation of the gun, from priming to breach plug removal. is breach plug removal still possible without removing the bolt?? keep in mind I would use the hex b plug.

I plan on adding a one piece Farrell base to my Savage shortly. Warne makes a one piece tactical that looks pretty nice to. Neither one would interfer with bolt or breech removal.Loading primer might be a tad harder but the Farrel offers a little taller design. I would think the one piece design might be easier on the scope, allowing the action to flex less. Savage Ml can be tough on scopes.

I have used a one piece Leupold base and rings on my Savage at one time. It is not on now. It caused a bit more trouble in loading but nothing of much consequence. I may return to it just because some feel it is a stronger design than the two piece. I currently have on a Warne and Burris Signature system on my two Savages. Warne on one and the Burris on the other.

I have had a one piece on mine since the start, about 5 years now, never has been any problem.I could see how it might be a little easier to load the 209 cap but even with my big digits it has never been an issue.

Add this to your storehouse of knowledge: Don't buy an aluminum B-Square mount.

I use a extension base on the front which gives plenty of adjustment without the anymore added weight.....just a thought.
