7mm rem mag Rifle is good but i have used it for a few years and needs a make over. Looking to have the wood redone along with checkering that is wearing and maybe some mods. Any suggestions on what and with whom. Thanks

Yea, you!
Buy a hundred dollars worth of checkering tools, a rasp and file, some sand paper and finish. Have at it, if you know what you want I expect you have the ability to do it.
Oh yea, 10 bucks worth of JB Weld and surgical tubing to bed the action.

It takes a trained person who has dabbled at the art of checkering years to learn the art. Unless you are very good at doing such I would recommend leaving to the professionals. It's not as easy as it looks. I don't doubt your ability to do the work but it leaves more to it. I had my Rem 700 rebuilt, had the action trued and blue printed bought a Shilen top of the line hand lapped barrel had it chambered in 7MM Mag. Had the barrel cut to duplicate the factory barrel and I utilized the same stock. I shot a 1" group at 200 yards after the job was completed by Mr. Kerry of MGM. I am shooting a 140 grain Nosler ballistic tip bullet, using IMR-4831. It's a fantastic shooter It cost me between $800 and $900 when completly finished, the biggest expense was the barrel. I have to say Mr. Kerry of MGM did a fantastic job. I am in the process of getting Mr. Kerry to re-chamber another 7MM Mag. to 7MM ultra Mag. It's a VG shooter as a 7MM Mag. should do just as good as 7MM Remington Ultra Mag. as they take the same twist 1-9. Will LYK when I have it and a chance to shoot it. Lou
