We currently have a great grinder for our sausage but we use the same machine without the blade in to also stuff the casings. It works ok except that we have to push all of the ground meat back through the tube of the grinder a handfull at a time. I am looking at getting a vertical 15 to 20 # stuffer that we can load with the whole batch of meat and crank it out. What do you guys use? Cabellas has some but they get poor user reviews online. Would also be curious if anyone has ever made a stuffer that works well Thanks in advance

We have one that came from a company from nebraska i think, not sure of the name off the top of my head. Anyway, it is a pvc pipe that lays horizontal on the table. On the back end is 2 hose fittings, the front has a screw on cap w/different sizes of tubes, and inside is a round "ram" with a couple of o rings on it. Basically you hook up a hose to the inlet push the ram to the back, fill w/meat, put on the end cap with your casing threaded on the tube and when you turn on the valve for the water it pushes the meat out at whatever speed you want it. When empty turn off water valve and open the drain valve and you can then push the ram back and force the water out. The only thing we didn't like about it is not being able to see how much meat was left, but now i think they have a model with a clear window to see inside.

I use a 4QT Enterprise Lard Press without the lard basket. You use the large plate. They are on Ebay all the time. They come in 4,6 and 8Qt capacities. I bought mine for 25bucks. Most people don't know what they are when they see them in a garage sale. I used to use a 3lb stuffer but it was a 2 person operation. I can use the lard press alone . My wife really likes that!
