If your rifle will shoot it accurately then it will probably be just fine. I have not killed anything with Prvi ammo but I do shoot Prvi ammo and I reload Prvi bullets in a 9.3x57 and 9.3x62 Mauser. There are several people over at Gunboards in the Swedish area that hunt with the 9.3x57 and x62 and use 285gr Prvi bullets. They report that the Prvi penetrates well and holds together very good on deer and elk so I would think the 196gr 8mm Prvi bullet would work good as well.

I have several K98's and found lots of Mil surplus out there, rather old batches though and every now and then a case would rupture. (Yugo 1955). All FMJ - no good for hunting. Cost is pretty high on new brass so I cut and resize 30-06 cases. Works great. I pull the old bullets out of the surplus to save some money. There are several companies/dealers that sell hunting ammo for 8mm Cheaper Than Dirt maybe. It's out there but pricey. Reloading is the way to go. My rifles like 196 gr and have reloaded 150? grain for funzies.

the 170 partizan shoots well in my rifles. One is still 8 x 57 but the other is the original barrel, I just reamed it to a 8-06. The 185 rems shoot pretty decent (2-3.5" @ 100) but the 170's shoot a bunch better in the 1 1/2" range.
