Anybody used a Simmons AETEC Master Series 2.8 x 10 x 44 scope? Originally over $300, on sale now at opticsplanet for $179, but some places on ebay they're going for less than $100 including a sunshade. I normally choose Burris, I think they are good intermediate priced scopes, but am tempted to try an AETEC for less than $100. Any opinions or experiences on this scope?

The Simmons that came on my ML10 lasted only one season. Not up to the pounding of the recoil of the mighty Savage. I replaced it with an A1-Optic 3-12x50 that I bought off E-Bay and loved it. It had the brightest view of any scope I have ever seen, but it too died after one season on the mighty Savage.
Now have Burris Fullfield 2x9-40 and it has held together and is in its third season with no problems. Sells for about double the price of that Simmons, but certainly worth it in my opinion for the ML10.
My Simmons 3-9x40was quite satisfactory while it worked and I have a Simmons 4-12x40 on another rifle that works just great, but I wouldn't put one back on the ML10. Need one tough as nails for that and apparently the Simmons ain't. Just my $.02 worth.

Howa,
I agree with Chuck. I also have a Burris Fullfiled II that has held up great so far--on 4th year. You will have to pay a little more, but worth it. Gotta have a toughscope with Savage. Rossman also turned me onto Nitrex scopes from Natchez--the TR2 which is the same scope as Weaver Super Slam 6x20--50mm,target adj. turrets for $289.00 after rebate. This is a good deal for what it offers.
