Well looks like hunting season is here again, and I have been searching for a thread that explained how to make shooting sticks from a hockey stick. Needing a little more steady in my shooting I was going to make one but could not find the thread. I searched the old board as well. Does anyone remember where I could find this? thanks for any help.

I was not here at the time of the old board, got lost of useful info there but did not find any improvements over my home made $1.86 Shootin Sticks. I buy one alum green plastic coated 6' tomato stake from Lowes or Hm Dep, saw it in half, Drop down two inches from the top and rap electricians tape arround it 6 to 8 times spread the bottom legs apart and WALLA. Shooting sticks. You can used three for a more steady support but two does me just fine. For stalking, I buy two, tape um together and I have stand up shootin sticks, BUT they cost me twice as much ;)JM2 Rusty

Varmint Al has a detailed set of instructions on his page as well. I already had a Stony Point monopod (expedition), so I just bought a second one and ran a 10-32 bolt threw them to give me a pivot point. I pull it apart and just use a monopod for turkey season.
